King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital

King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital is situated in the busy seaport of Jeddah on the western seaboard of the Red Sea. Accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) since 2015 and Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) since 2017. A new and progressive 420-bed Armed Forces Hospital and a newly build Hospital Specialty Building opened this December 2016. The Hospital has five city-wide satellite clinics form part of a KFAFH national network of healthcare facilities directly manage by the Medical Services Division (MSD) of the Ministry of Defense and Aviation (MODA).

The Hospital provides a wide range of primary, secondary and tertiary medical services to members of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces and their dependents. The cardiac center, situated within the main Hospital, is the only cardiac surgical facility in Western Region.

In-service training and education are actively promoted by the Department of Medical Education and Nursing Education and from within the individual Departments. The programme includes a weekly hospital grand rounds and study days. Inter and intra-departmental activities include seminars, case presentations and journal clubs. The hospital is also designated training center for medical and nursing staff.

All departments and units, both medical and non-medical, have written policies and procedures to ensure delivery of consistent levels of quality care and service.

Dermatology Department

The Department of Dermatology serve more than 30,000 patients annually with 8 sub-specialty clinics namely, General Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, Hair Clinic, Psoriasis Clinic, Pigment Clinic, Immuno Dermatology Clinic, Derma-surgery and Laser clinics. The Laser clinics are equipped with different modern uptodate laser machines namely alexandrite, Nd:Yag, Pulse Dye, Co2 Fractional and Excimer laser. Radiofrequency machine and microwave machine for the treatment of hyperhydrosis is also available. All the clinic is run by our Dermatologist as a team. We are accredited as a training center for Saudi Board Resident Training Program for Dermatology for more than 13 years. Our clinic regularly conducting in-service trainings and continues medical education activities such as lecture, grand rounds, case presentations, workshops, courses, researches and world dermatological events.

Your participation will definitely have a very positive impact on the success of this workshop. This meeting is innovatively designed to inspire our attendee and ensure that this meeting remains at the cutting edge.

It is a privilege for me as a chairman of this meeting as we continue to grow and adapt, motivate and improve our skills in making practical diagnosis.

The attendee will be able to understand the changes of different dermatological diseases with the explanation how it take place and they will come up with the practical diagnosis

Our speakers national and international has the ability to meet the challenges of our field. It will be very interactive as our guest speakers will provide the opportunity to share their insights, knowledge and expertise with you.

We are pleased to be hosting the 3rd “Dermatopathology Steps in Prcatical Diagnosis” meeting, held at King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah from 9-11 April 2019.

Our scientific committee has merged distinguished experts from the local and the international dermatology and pathology specialties to share the pearls of their knowledge with us during this conference. The main theme of this meeting is for us to be guided in practical diagnosis. In addition to general presentations, a special lecture, and individual microscope for slide viewing will be provided. Furthermore, a unique technique of presentation will enrich this meeting and be beneficial for all participants.

I would like to thank each and everyone for attending our conference and special thank for our guest speakers for sharing with us their precious knowledge and time. Throughout this conference, I ask you to stay engaged, keep us proactive and help us shape the future of dermatopathology field.
